Camp 2025

We all know the story of Jonah—he’s the guy who got swallowed by a fish. Jonah was a prophet sent by God to the city of Nineveh, a people not knowing their right hand from their left. Yet it was not only Nineveh whom God intended to rescue.
The central theme of the book revolves around God’s desire for transformation rather than destruction. Despite Jonah’s own rebellion and the dire message he delivers, God’s ultimate intent is to offer both Nineveh and his prophet Jonah a chance for redemption. This reflects God’s compassion and commitment to restoration, not just retribution—even for a rebellious prophet and a city as infamous as Nineveh. This perspective invites a deeper appreciation of God’s grace and the transforming power of God working through repentance. The Book of Jonah not only serves to encourage God’s people to go and carry His message to all people but also allows us to closely examine God’s gracious pursuit of us, like Jonah, even when our desires are opposed to His.
