This year at camp we will follow the story of the unstoppable gospel through the missionary journeys of the apostle Paul in the book of Acts. Beginning in chapter 13, the Spirit sends Paul and Barnabas out from the church, and the message of Jesus moves beyond familiar borders into cities, cultures, and communities that have never heard it before. Again and again the gospel advances—through preaching and persuasion, through suffering and opposition, through ordinary conversations and unexpected opportunities. Some believe with great joy, others resist fiercely, but the message continues to spread.
Throughout the week we will see how God works through preaching, hardship, courage, and ordinary faithfulness to build and strengthen the early church. These chapters show the gospel confronting idols, forming new believers into communities of faith, and continuing forward despite opposition. As we trace Paul’s missionary journeys together, our hope is that we will not only understand this pivotal section of Acts of the Apostles more clearly, but also be reminded that the same gospel continues to move today—through ordinary people, into new places, and toward those who have not yet heard.
